We start with natural, GMO free vegetable oils and split the oil apart into its components: glycerin and fatty acids.

Next we insert a food-grade propoxyl connector & re-link the fatty acid and glycerin, to make a material that looks, feels, tastes and cooks like fat.

Epogee Fat Replacer (EPG) was developed with safety as the most important requirement. Epogee Fat Replacer (EPG) is esterified propoxylated glycerol and has been shown to be safe across a wide range of food uses. EPG has been rigorously tested in more than 60 studies. The data supporting EPG's safety is among the strongest data packages ever developed for a new food ingredient.

EPG has achieved Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status for use in confectionery products, frying, baked goods and baking mixes, frozen dairy desserts and mixes, nuts and nut products (including peanut butter), grain products, pasta, granola and snack bars, sauces and gravies, and soft candy. EPG has been evaluated for safety at levels as high as 150 grams per day, which is almost twice as much as consumed in a typical US diet of 2,500 calories per day.

In addition to rigorous testing to safety and submission of data for FDA GRAS confirmation, Epogee Fat Replacer is fully Kosher compliant and is manufactured in top-line facilities in the USA according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food. EPG is gluten free, allergen free, vegan, and is made using natural vegetable oils which are free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
